Virgin Gorda/BVI, April-May 2008--Rock Climbing

The southwestern tip of the island is covered with a tangle of boulders called The Baths. Climbing over, under, between and around these boulders can be relatively easy (there is even a path with stairs and ladders) or hard. Guess which way the boys like it?Getting to The Baths, for us, required a hike from the parking lot.Once we got to the boulders, Tony and Nick generally took off to find a challenge.

Matt stayed with Sam and me to provide some muscle, as well as find himself some comfortable perches.

Samantha looked for some perches of her own. She was fearless and resented Mom's frequent exclaims to "be careful!"Sometimes we stayed together to see how far we could get as a team.

Some of the crevices and drops were bigger than Sam could and/or Mom would do without help.

Although the boys often went in the morning as well, the 5 of us always went in the late afternoon and enjoyed some beautiful sunsets.
